Furniture moving for one piece or a whole room
Single-piece furniture moves in San Diego run $150 to $450 depending on weight, stairs, and distance. We disassemble and reassemble IKEA wardrobes, Sleep Number beds, sectionals, and Pelotons, pad-wrap every piece, and check doorway and stairwell clearances before we lift anything that costs more to repair than to move.
What's included in this service?
- Single-piece moves (one couch, one armoire, one Peloton) priced flat or by short hourly windows
- Disassembly and reassembly: IKEA Pax/Hemnes, Sleep Number, sectional couches, Peloton bikes and Tread, dining tables
- Pad-wrap on upholstered pieces, full shrink-wrap on dressers and drawer units
- Doorway, stairwell, and elevator clearance check before any lift
- Crane or hoist coordination for windows when stairs cannot fit (rare, but happens in La Jolla and Mt Soledad)
- In-home rearrangement (you bought a new sectional, the old one needs to go to the garage)

Do you charge for IKEA disassembly?
It's included in the labor time, not a separate fee. A Pax wardrobe takes 2 movers about 30 to 45 minutes to break down and another 45 to 60 minutes to reassemble at destination. We bring the right Allen keys and label hardware bags so nothing goes missing.
Can you move a Peloton bike or Tread?
Yes. Bikes get the screen and pedals removed, get pad-wrapped, and travel upright in the truck. Treads are heavier (about 290 lbs for a Tread, 455 lbs for a Tread+) and require a 3-mover crew with stair-climbing dollies for any flight of stairs. We've moved both up and down 3-story walk-ups in PB and Hillcrest.
What if my couch will not fit through the door?
We measure both the piece and the entry path before any lift. If a couch will not fit through a door at any angle, we'll either remove the door (5 minutes), bring it up a balcony with a hoist, or, on rare occasions, recommend a different solution. We don't break things to make them fit.
Do you do same-room rearrangement?
Yes, with a 2-hour minimum. Common asks: moving a sectional from the living room to a finished basement, swapping primary bedroom and guest room layouts, getting a Peloton out of the garage and into a spare room. Same hourly rate applies.
