Packing services for any room you do not want to box yourself
Full-pack service for a typical San Diego 2-bedroom home runs $800 to $1,400 in labor plus $300 to $500 in materials, finished in one day before the move. The movers we connect you with use manufacturer-grade double-wall boxes, dish-pack barrels, mattress bags, and mirror cartons, not the recycled liquor-store boxes some crews show up with. Fragile-only and partial-pack options are also on the table.
What's included with packing services in San Diego?
- Full-pack: every room boxed and labeled, typically the day before the move
- Partial-pack: kitchen, art, electronics, and closets only (most common request)
- Fragile-only: china, stemware, art, mirrors, and electronics with custom crating
- Materials: double-wall book boxes, dish-pack barrels, wardrobe boxes, mirror/picture cartons, mattress bags, TV boxes
- Pack-and-load in one day for studios and small 1-bedrooms when scheduled in advance
- Unpacking service at destination for clients who want furniture placed and paper hauled away
When do you need packing services?
- You're short on time and the move is in under two weeks
- You have a kitchen full of stemware, china, or specialty cookware
- You own art, framed mirrors, or electronics that need real packing materials
- You're a senior or have mobility limits that make packing hard
- You're getting reimbursed for a corporate or military move and packing is covered
Packing Services in San Diego: frequently asked questions
How long do kitchen packing services take?
An average San Diego kitchen with full china, glassware, small appliances, and pantry contents takes a 2-packer crew 3 to 5 hours. Larger kitchens with butler's pantries or wine collections run 5 to 7 hours. The crew brings dish-pack barrels (which are double-walled and divided), packing paper, and bubble for stemware and crystal.
Full-pack or partial-pack?
Most San Diego clients land on partial-pack: they handle clothes, books, and bedrooms themselves and have us pack the kitchen, art, and electronics. That's the highest-ROI use of professional packing because those are the rooms where bad packing causes real damage. Full-pack makes sense for tight timelines, large homes, and reimbursed corporate or military moves.
Does packing happen the day before or on move day?
For 2-bedroom homes and larger, the movers we connect you with pack the day before. That gives the crew breathing room and means move day is just loading and driving. For studios and small 1-bedrooms, the movers we connect you with can pack and load the same day if you book a 4-mover crew. Packing and loading in one day is harder to schedule on short notice.
What about valuation if a packer breaks something?
Items packed by the mover crew are covered under the same Released Value (60 cents/lb/article) or Full Value Protection you choose for the move. Items packed by you (PBO, packed by owner) typically aren't covered for internal damage unless the box arrives visibly crushed. If you're choosing FVP and packing yourself, talk to us first about which boxes to leave for the crew.
